This company did not take my Patent item to trade shows as specified in my original documents and the drawing and write up of my invention was a total joke. Could never get a hold of the person in charge of my invention due to his medical issues and would not get back to me for a long time. I lost a lot of money with this company and would not recommend them! They are rated 2 of 5!

You paid them $6000 ? For what ?

You state that the item was already patented (at least you imply that 'Patent item'). You can't project what you thought you'd have made from your gizmo and claim that as loss.

What did they claim they'd do ? Finding an item of interest at a trade show is like looking for a needle in a stack of needles ; they're mostly just for name recognition purposes in 'the trade'.

Poor Customer Service, Waste of Money

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Don't waste your time and money. The representatives at United Patent Research called and emailed me regularly when they were looking for payment of some kind. However, once I paid for the trade show representation, it suddenly became an inconvenience for them to talk to me. They will just tell you that you aren't doing enough and that they don't need to provide you with updates. I once called Pat Ralston to get an update on how the trade shows were going and it was clear that my phone call was nothing but an inconvenience. After all, they had already gotten nearly $5,000 for the trade show representation plus the money for the patent search. Contractually, they are not obligated to provide updates. However, good customer service would reach out to ensure the customer was satisfied. When I called to extend my provisional patent, I was again treated as an inconvenience. The money I paid United Patent Research was the worst $6,000 I ever spent. They will call and have good response time when soliciting you to pay for a service, but once you have paid, you will be nothing but an inconvenience to them. Save yourself the time and money and do not use this company. I regret ever contacting United Patent Research.

Same thing here! Although I did obtain a Patent, absolutely no help with marketing or licensing, as promised in the contract.

When I tried to speak with them about these issues they just gave me the run around and treated me as an inconvenience. The supposed licensing attorney is also a crock of ***

If your company gets contacted by Jeffery Benson of Mars Rising Network out of Las Vegas Nevada for you to carry an item called "the Perfect RVFlush" do not take it. Its a stolen patent and there is currently legal matters pending.

Very Professional and Knowledgable

I would like to relay some of my experiences with United Patent Research. As I have no background regarding the patent process I have been pleased that UPR representatives have always been willing to carefully explain the steps and procedures involved in the patent process. My calls are always returned and the UPR representatives are always polite and professional. The patent process has begun and I am glad that UPR has begun, and I have received interest from several companies. I .am looking forward to the next step. So far I am very satisfied with the service and personal contact I have received from UPR.

Great Company to Work With

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have worked with United Patent Research for almost a year now. At the beginning I was always a little skeptical just handing my idea someone that had so much promise. I can say it has so far been a good experience. They are very knowledgeable, and they always follow thru and complete every task 100% to my satisfaction. I am looking forward to issuance of my US patent next month, and I’m eager to see what leads will be generated from the next upcoming tradeshow.

Canceled just in time

After reading all these and other sites complaints I wiil not proceed with them. I had my suspicions by the way they spoke from an obvious script, never letting me get a word in; talking fast, over me if I tried and going on a very lengthy explanation and leaving no room for questions. I had to force my questions in, only to be met with the same but now with borderline attitude. I literally pulled the paperwork and check for $795 out of the mailbox-I was that close to losing my money. Thank you all for sharing your experience about them. Are there honest, good ones out there to patent & market new ideas? If so please email me at saradancecenter5000@***.com

Thx as I haven´t gotten far nor will I either after reading all these reviews. I received a phone call with someone reading a script SUPER fast as well.

I actually entertained the call and then made simple questions in a friendly tone, however, the caller actually got MAD at instead of treating me like a customer. After that call I knew I wouldn´t deal with them anymore.

Horrible

Well back in 2012 and ittlw before, I had an idea for a food product called Red Velvet Cake Frosting for the traditional Red Velvet Cake. I paid them 750.00 for a portfolio and 5000.00 for a provision for patent which only cost 65.00 when dealing wiht the USA. They hoodwink, bamboozle, and took advantage off my poverty; Mike and others telling I would become Rich

Thieves and liars

I contacted United Patten research In search of somebody to help me retain a pattern and open doors up for potential Licensing Agreements! They fed me full of lies and i paid them around 1200 and all i recieved Was a portfolio full of all the detailed stuff that I told them about my product, They continued to feed me with false hope and More lies! They then told me that filing the patent would cost me $10000, my aunt believing in my idea aswel as me offered to pay for the patent, ghey also fed her full of lies and promises, and thats not the end ov it, They then filed a design patent which they knew i did not want nor would it protect my idea,(which i believe they did on purpose )luckily i caught ig in their paperwork! Following alm this, i recieve the patent filing paperwork only via email, not on paper, and i t.f showed that the filing only costed 900 dollars,so why did they lie to me abd charge a struggling family man $9100 more than what it actually costed? Then they were done w me,they never filled any of their promises!! ***

the 900 is the patent office fee however you have to pay a lawyer to write the application. 5k is cheap if they did a good job.

DEFENDING MY HONOR

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My name is David Moore. I am writing my rebuttal to defend my self from a scurrilous misrepresentation. My former client and I got along famously until I mentioned there was likely to be a cost to secure a patent. She became indignant. It was her contention that she would be provided a patent free of charge. All clients nationwide know there is a cost to render patent services.I talk openly about my family as a ice-breaker so clients get to know me better.I have 3 dogs 12 cats love animals. What is so bad about that,I ask you! We are not bad people as she depicts. The overwhelming majority of my clients really like me and vice-versa !

Do not use this company. What a joke. They promise you things they can’t deliver. They will take your money and nothing happens. You might as well donate to the homeless. My attorney is almost finished with my lawsuit. Don’t be the next victim.

Complete liars and theives

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
They charged me $795 for a cheap portfolio that I could have done myself or even one of my children for that matter, then told me that it would cost $10,000 to secure my idea with a US patent and it they will connect me with a license agreement for 20% of my royalties, after I pay the $10,000 I find out that my so-called patent attorney only charge them $900 in the filing is free with the US patent office, and not only that but they tried to file a design patent which didn't even make sense for my idea, and after some research I found out that they can steal my idea by changing my design a little bit, so I force them to file Utility Patent which they were sort of upset about, and now I have not heard a word back from them in over 6 months and they keep telling me I just need to call United licensing for any other questions, and United licensing will not even return my calls, these people robbed me for every penny I had...
